Honor Flight Arrives LAX
Honor Flight Southland is a great organization that honors our veterans. They started in 2014 to honor our veterans of WWII, to fly them at no cost to the vets to Washington, DC to tour the military memorials in their honor. They have expanded to honor veterans of Korea and Vietnam. Their entire trip is a patriotic and emotional journey, and their homecoming to LAX is a time to welcome these fine veterans home! Compatriot Bryan Horsman is a chairperson with Honor Flight. Most often the homecoming is attended by SAR, DAR, and other patriotic people.
All are invited to come and celebrate the return from Washington, D.C. You’re invited to bring out your red, white and blue in signs, banners and anything else you’d use to show your spirit. Homecoming is a really big deal for these Vets! Come out and support these most humble of heroes. Look for an Honor Flight Southland volunteer in a red shirt for assistance.
From Micki at Honor Flight…
This is HUGE… and when I say huge, I mean GINORMOUS!!! My goal is to double the amount of people we had at our last Welcome. If you know of groups, teams, organizations…anyone that wants to be a part of something that is so incredibly touching and deserved, please , please ,please let me know. Yes, this year will be a bit later, but still at an hour that is appropriate for all to attend. Be creative. Think outside of the box. Share this email with EVERYONE! These heroes deserve the incredibly awesome Welcome provided at Mission 18, and more! Let me know as soon as you can how you can help! Remember…if you come alone, as a family or as a group of 20…every extra cheer, smile, sign, and flag makes a difference.
