Henry Pendleton, son of James Pendleton and Elizabeth Anderson Coleman, Patriot Ancestor of Jeff, Greg, Joseph, Daniel, and Trey Prang, was born 1733 in Virginia, and died 1798 in Culpeper County, Virginia. He married Anne Thomas, with whom he had three sons and several daughters. She was from Orange County, Virginia, and died 1804. He lived until death on his plantation at the fork of the Hazel and Thornton rivers.
Henry Pendleton is included in the Will of Jeremiah Sims (Ref. 7171), "of the County of Culpeper being sick and weak. I do constitute and appoint my beloved wife, Agatha Sims, executrix, and my loving friends Edward Sims, John Nalle, Junr. and Henry Pendleton, executors, 24 March, 1768."
Henry was a gentleman justice of Culpeper County from 1763-1764 and also a captain in the Revolutionary War. He was a member of the House of Burgesses, and the Committee of Safety of Culpeper County, and of the Patriot Conventions of 1775 and 1776.
On July 4, 1774, as Henry Pendleton, Esq., he was Moderator at a meeting of the Freeholders and Inhabitants of Culpeper County, who met "to consider the most effectual methods to preserve the rights and liberties of America."
At a Convention of Delegates for the Counties and Corporations in the Colony of Virginia, at the Town of Richmond, Henrico County, on Monday, March 20, 1775, Henry served as a delegate from Culpeper County along with Henry Field, Jr., Esq. with some of the most famous American patriots, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, Richard Henry Lee, and Edmund Pendleton.
During the Revolutionary War, Henry was commissioned as Lieutenant of Foot under Captain Edmund Waller. He was granted a certificate for supplies furnished for the use of the Continental Army.
The old Pendleton place in Culpeper County, an historical structure, was apparently the home of this Henry Pendleton. It was built in 1775 and is located 8 miles north of Culpeper Courthouse, Virginia.
Henry Pendleton is a "proven" Revolutionary War patriot and recognized by the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Sons of the American Revolution.

She later was married to Richard Williamson according to his Will in Culpeper naming "wife Catherine, brothers; Henry and Edward Pendleton. Cousin; Nancy Brown wife of William Brown, uncle; James Pendleton and nephew David Williamson. Sister in Scotland." Witnesses were Samuel Ferguson Jr. and Henry Pendleton, Jr.
