DESCRIPTION:In honor of George Washington’s birthday and the Armed Forces of the United States, the Sons of Liberty Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution will again be hosting the Massing of Colors and Salute to the Armed Forces. \nDATE: February 15, 2026 at 2 pm\nLOCATION: Forest Lawn Cemetery Hollywood Hills; in front of the Hall of Liberty.\nThis visually amazing patriotic event has taken place for over 30 years.\nNote: if you are a member of SAR or DAR, this is an SAR America 250 Event,\nand you get points for attending, and bonus points for helping organize the event!\nAfter you enter the gate, drive up the hill to the Hall of Liberty and park in the parking lot; if lot is full park where you can safely on side of road.\nFeaturing color guard and honor guard units from local high schools, ROTC units, military branches, historical societies, and each branch of the military service\nbranch of the military service.\nThe event will feature a Warbirds fly-by (with missing man formation), as well as artillery and firearm salutes.  All branches of the Military have supported this event in previous years with displays and Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Air Force personnel representing their respective service branches.\nThe Blue Eagles Honor Guard from Edwards AFB will lead the parade and execute ceremonial honors.\nThis free, non-profit sponsored event empowers the youth of the community, and recognizes the military.\nThis is an outdoor event at a fabulous venue.  The Color Guards are all uniformed and present a remarkable patriotic image.  The entire parade event concluded in approximately 1 hour.\nThis event provides three huge dividends:\n\nrecognizes tangibly the Military service to our Nation publicly;\nvalidates the youth in our community who make the wise choices to learn leadership and community service through JROTC/Sea Cadet/Young Marines etc and\nRecognizes the leadership and contributions of General George Washington.\n\nFor more information click here ( https://sons-of-liberty-sar.org/massing-of-the-colors-salute-to-our-armed-forces/ )\nor to Register, click here ( https://sons-of-liberty-sar.org/massing-of-the-colors/ ).\n
